Sunclock label head and prolific producer/DJ Vivona returns with a powerful reimagining of his debut collaboration alongside legendary deep house songstress Lisa Shaw and supporting vocals from newcomer Echo B.
“Back2You” is a captivating vocal gem, intricately composed and layered with mixes inspired by alternative dark house synth and rhythms, with deep, driving grooves. Far from a disposable, hook-driven track, the production is rich, intentional, and fully realized—crafted for lasting impact on both dance floors and discerning listeners alike.
Best known for her extensive catalog with labels such as Defected Records, Astralwerks, King Street Sounds, Suol, and Anjunadeep, Lisa Shaw is celebrated for her velvety, sultry presence across the house and R&B landscapes. Born in Scarborough, Ontario, and relocating to New York City in 1995, she became a defining voice within the underground electronic and deep house communities. Spanning deep house, downtempo, and neo-soul, her work—particularly during the influential Naked Music era—helped shape the soulful house sound of the late ’90s and early 2000s.
Vivona continues his upward trajectory through his ongoing collaboration with the iconic King Street Sounds, where he has remixed standout catalog titles from luminaries such as Kerri Chandler, Dennis Ferrer, Tiger Stripes, Mood II Swing, Barbara Tucker, Arnold Jarvis, and Ralphi Rosario, among others. His own original productions have earned remixes from esteemed artists including Frankie Knuckles & Eric Kupper (as Director’s Cut), Terry Hunter, Joeski, Basti Grub, Gene Farris, Dino Lenny, Vince Watson, and Rocco, to name a few.
On this reissued Deep Mix, Vivona seamlessly fuses modern edge with classic sensibility in what can best be described as a refined “metro-retro” aesthetic. The result is a sophisticated, dancefloor-ready release that further solidifies the Sunclock collective’s commitment to quality, depth, and timeless house music.
